Check in the box

I did it. I woke up at 6:30 after a late night and restless sleep. I was just getting settled when my alarm went off, oh well I thought, I can sleep tomorrow! My marathon running niece's phone was on vibrate so I was on my own, and quite proud of myself for not being the one to sleep in. I am so blessed to live in the most beautiful area. This was my view as I ran this morning. I saw the moon rise! Ha who knew you could watch the moon rise in the morning! I think I probably only jogged about 1 1/2 miles but I didn't stop! I just went slow enough to where I could keep going! I was barely going faster than the walkers but at least I got about 20 mins of solid cardio, thats a start anyway! I was back at my house with my workout accomplished by 7:30. My oh my what will I do with all this time on my hands, clean something, organize, get ready for the day ...no. I went to Target. hahaha My kindergartener had school picture day today and she needed (wanted...ok I wanted) to get her a new shirt. They recently built a Target 5 minutes away from my house! and yes we are on our way to the poor house because of it! I went 3 times the first day. No joke.

THINGS I LEARNED TODAY
1. You don't need a gym to work out! You don't need fancy gym equipment or outfits. Everyone has pavement outside their front door. If its snowing..oh well. What a story to tell your friends "(I'm so dedicated) I worked out in the snow!)
2. Next time I will use my time afterwards more usefully, I did do the dishes, but now it's almost 11 and I have A LOT to dO!
3. Get a friend or a neighbor to go with you, start a walking group, put flyers up in your library if you have no friends ( and don't feel bad, it's not uncommon to be kind of ...isolated)

I might not be where I going today, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

Here I am..

Why can’t I be really good at everything… I think if I focus on the things that matter to me I can be really good at everything piece by piece.

My first entry is about fitness. I have had three kids in five years…crazy, I know. My children have brought me immense joy and 10 extra pounds of immovable baby weight …a piece. That’s right 30 extra pounds people. I’m kind of ok with it. That is the problem. Firstly, I have completely settled into this new body of mine. Secondly, I have a new bigger sized wardrobe (If I lose weight, what a waste of money that would be). Thirdly, I have adjusted to the “I’m going to eat whatever sounds the most delicious” mentality (after all, diner always comes at the end of a very hard day…Waa). I do look at the fashionable women who can fit into cute affordable clothes (forever 21) and wish I could fit into a Large at this store. I’m not that big, I don’t think it is a lot to ask. I do wish my face looked cute from all angles, and as I am turning 30 this year I do wish I could join the club of 30 somethings that can tout “I’m in better shape than I was in high school!”
I have decided that I am going to change my lifestyle in three easy ways.
1. Wake up before my children to work out, which for me means 6:30am
2. Plan good meals..i mean stop pinning(on pinterest) delicious healthy meals and start making them.
3. When we do eat out , and we will, choose the best choice.
Now here’s to my first day of the rest of my life, here’s to my new blog to document not only what I find but what I DO and here’s to sticking to it!

BEING HEALTHY IS 30% WORKING OUT 70% WHAT YOU EAT
My alarm is set for 6:30am for the week. I am meeting my niece at 6:45 to go for a run. She just finished a marathon and runs 20 miles a day on a fairly regular basis. I threw my back out yesterday. We’ll see how it goes! But no matter what I will feel great….i may not get where I’m going but I will be closer tomorrow than I was today!
